Jasmine Rice Instant Pot for Your Indian Food Recipes

Apr 21, 2022

Jasmine Rice is probably some of the tastiest rice in existence. You really can tell the difference! Instant Pots have made lives so much easier because they are able to cook a full meal in a fraction of the time and they are always good! Indian food is particularly good in Instant Pots because the heat within the pot is evenly distributed throughout the entire cooking process.

The key to perfect Jasmine Rice

First, wash your rice until the water is clear. This process helps remove some of the excess starch. Side note - Our co-founder, Bina always soaks rice for at least 30 minutes before the wash and cook process. Taught to her by her grandmother as soaking the rice assimilates nutritional qualities, helping the gastrointestinal tract better absorb vitamins. It also cooks faster and produces a beautiful bloomed texture. Start by adding oil or ghee (clarified butter) in the Instant Pot to help keep the rice from sticking. The recipe is simple, 1:1 - 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of water to your Instant Pot or for 2 cups of rice use 2 cups of water in your Instant Pot.

Cooking brown Jasmine Rice or white Jasmine Rice, the recipe is the same, just add about 20 minutes to the cooking time for the brown Jasmine Rice.
